Fósil CIprés 1
Forgotten Woods, 2011

Rio Puelo Valley is a high mountain valley in The Andes. Its river runs from Argentina to the Pacific Ocean.
For years local people tried to harvest native woods but the hard rains, the growing lush forest and the remoteness made the effort worthless.
However, many trees were cut and left lying in the forest with seedlings, mosses and lichens growing on them.
The wood of a Cipres tree is a light color wood with dense grain and strong resistance to the weather and humidity.
Fosil Cipres 1 comes from a 180 plus years old cut over 50 years ago.
A piece of 30mts long and 1.2mts diameter.
